REMEMBER: You can click on the above logo to get to the most recent posting.... Hope you have fun looking at my creations and other things I love in life.... calligraphy is my passion, but so is my family... consisting of "the love of my life", my hubby, and my three miniature long haired dachshunds. You'll see lots of them here. Loved this quote: There’s something sacred about reading a blog post on someone else’s site. It’s like visiting a friend’s house for a quick meal ’round the breakfast table. It’s personal—you’re in their space, and the environment is uniquely suited for idea exchange and uninterrupted conversation. In many ways, we should be treating our blogs like our breakfast tables. Be welcoming & gracious when you host, and kind & respectful when visiting.” – Trent Walton

The bed is made.... finally!

Well, it's February already and I am fast and furiously into the wedding season mode.  Not a day goes by where I am not addressing an envelope, doing a place card or discussing what a bride wants on her invitation.  It's fun and challenging!  I have also been called to do a couple of commissions for Valentine's day, so there is no idle hands for this girl!

SWCC in OKC 2012
Thankfully, I am doing well, health-wise. I was a little worried as I had to fly to Oklahoma City for a calligraphy planning conference the last weekend in January and the close quarters or dry, stale are always seems to make me sick. Knock wood, I am fine so far.  The Southwest Calligraphy Conference is attended only by the president and workshop chairs of nine regional guilds.  We share information from the past year and gather more info about workshops coming up in which we can share instructors/ airfare, etc.  It's the 31st year for the SWCC and next year we will be the hosts again!  It's a huge endeavor and we look forward to the challenge.  When I announced that we would be host in our 30th year for the guild, 2013, I got a hearty "I'll be the Chairman" response from one of our members, Gabi.  She organizes events like this for a living so I am totally confident that we will host one of the best conferences yet!  We are in good shape, financially, and plan to do some more fundraising this year.

Kevin and I will be taking a little jaunt to Houston for a little R&R in a couple of weeks.  Valentines' Day, Kev's birthday and or Anniversary will be all in the same week and we've been invited to share in a wedding on the 18th so we decided to put it all into a weekend and celebrate it right!  This will be our 16th year wedding anniversary!  It's hard to believe that our lives have been intertwined for almost 20 years and we are loving each other more than ever!  True love is real! BELIEVE!

So, my lack of blogging is justified .... although, in the interim ... of not posting here, I began another blog on solely envelopes that I have sent and received.  Envie blog   Check it out.. you might even
find YOUR envelope there someday!
