Hope you have fun looking at my creations and other things I love in life.... calligraphy is my passion, but so is my family... consisting of "the love of my life", my hubby, and my three miniature long haired dachshunds. You'll see lots of them here. Loved this quote: There’s something sacred about reading a blog post on someone else’s site. It’s like visiting a friend’s house for a quick meal ’round the breakfast table. It’s personal—you’re in their space, and the environment is uniquely suited for idea exchange and uninterrupted conversation. In many ways, we should be treating our blogs like our breakfast tables. Be welcoming & gracious when you host, and kind & respectful when visiting.” – Trent Walton

Leavin' on a Jet Plane....

I am really looking forward to seeing my family again and being a major part in my sister's wedding. It won't be long now, as I am packing and getting all the loose ends together.

Cindy and Gerard met online through a regional matching service and have been together for a few years now. They decided to "tie the knot" to declare their love to each other, forever, with family and friends. I have the honor of being her matron of honor and I had the opportunity to create and calligraph their wedding invitations with a little direction and inspiration from their color scheme.

I know I will have a good time in upstate New York. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate as it's an outside wedding and reception. I am looking forward to the cooler weather and my mom's garden... all fresh veggies whenever I want them... yeah! NO NEED for Farmer's Markets there! I LIKE that! My Aunt Lu as well as Heather and Avery, their families, my niece and nephew whom I haven't seen in years, and others will be at the wedding, but I also plan on getting in touch with a few other friends from high school and my past, if time allows. Time always goes so fast and I try not to schedule anything too specific in case I get sick from the flight or traveling in general.

I *think* I have wrapped up everything down here in Texas.... in regards to my presidential duties for the Capital City Scribes Guild. I have a great board and they are always there to pick up the slack when I am in need! Thank you, folks!!!

My sister and her "King" are getting married on the banks of the Hudson river, overlooking Rockwell Falls... where I grew up, in Saratoga county. There is so much history and nostalgia there for me. I haven't been back there since my cousin, Heather, was married in 2007, so it will be a treat for sore eyes to see all that lush green, the hills of the Adirondack mountains, the rolling waters and spend time at our family camp that I have so many fond memories of. I hope the nostalgia doesn't spill out TOO much and make me emotional, but if it does... SO BE IT! HERE I COME! Thankfully, Kevin will be coming for the wedding to be a part of all the festivities. I will miss him for the week that I am there without him, though!

Here is Rockwell Falls, Hadley, New York.
