REMEMBER: You can click on the above logo to get to the most recent posting.... Hope you have fun looking at my creations and other things I love in life.... calligraphy is my passion, but so is my family... consisting of "the love of my life", my hubby, and my three miniature long haired dachshunds. You'll see lots of them here. Loved this quote: There’s something sacred about reading a blog post on someone else’s site. It’s like visiting a friend’s house for a quick meal ’round the breakfast table. It’s personal—you’re in their space, and the environment is uniquely suited for idea exchange and uninterrupted conversation. In many ways, we should be treating our blogs like our breakfast tables. Be welcoming & gracious when you host, and kind & respectful when visiting.” – Trent Walton

Procrastination has a meaning....good rationalization, at least!

The eyes are the window to the soul. Look around you. Nothing nurtures the soul more than the Divine Beauty of nature. [This is the quote I scribed today.] [Photo by Kevin Willette (hubby) on Mediterranean Cruise. 2007]
I know I have always been one to "wait till the last minute" on a lot of things in my life. I find I work better that way. A little, added pressure is something that drives me. Sometimes I intend, and with every effort TRY, to get things together way ahead of time, but it seems that all my intents wind up on the cutting room floor. Of course, I don't wait till the last minute to do something that would make me insane or make myself sick, but I do like the added pressure to get something done in a shorter amount of time. Usually, I find, that the actual task that I have been putting off gets bigger and bigger the closer to the deadline. Once I actually get started on a project, things just seem to flow and the creativity spurs. I wish that I had more control over that in my life. I have been doing better lately. Lists help! It seems, the more things I have to do, too, the more I get done. When I only have one or two major tasks to conquer, they seem to sit on the back burner longer.

Today, I sat down and tackled a commission that I have been "commissioned" to do.... granted it was "only" by my brother-in-law-to-be's sister---(just family), for months. She was in no hurry, so that put the ball in my court. When people say they aren't in any hurry... I take them for their word. I wonder if it was a "paying" customer, working out the terms of the price, etc., if I would be more inclined to get it done!? Of course, I would.... as THAT'S business. THIS is family! Yay! I am getting another sister or two, or three!?

Anyway, I think that after conjuring it up in my mind of what I wanted it to look like but never just sitting at my desk to "put it on paper", I was finally ready! It helps me to think about something for a long time although creating something, spontaneously, on the fly can be fun, too! I don't want to post it yet as I haven't given it to her, but I am so happy that I have been busy again in my studio! There is so much to do.... I need to tidy it up and get rid of things... After this past weekend, teaching a paste paper workshop for the Capital City Scribes, ALL of those supplies are everywhere in addition to everything else that has been piling up before my illness in April, company in May and major wedding project that needed to be completed by June 1st. Here we are ALMOST into July and my poor studio looks very sad! Clean Me! That is what I wrote in my "dust".... even though my HOUSE MOTTO IS:
"You can touch my dust, but PLEASE don't write in it!"
Till later.... Love , love, LOVE!
